WebRTC brings High Definition communication across Open Browsers.
Now, we can have HD video chats with crystal clear voice with low delay communication, thanks to WebRTC. This technology is being nurtured by open web community, which includes engineers from Mozilla and Chrome, which seems to be in final phase of testing. Credit also goes to W3C and IETF communities in developing the platform which could work across open browsers to provide rich, secure communication directly from the browser.
Firefox and Chrome can now communicate by using standard technologies like OPUS and VP8 codecs for Audio-Video, DTLS(Datagram Transport Layer Security)-SRTP(Secure Real-time Transport Protocol) for encryption, and ICE (Interactive Connectivity Establishment) for networking.
To get hands-on, follow the method mentioned in the Chromium blog.
